2025 FELLOWS

Between September 2025 and May 2026, our current cohort of Lumen Gentium Fellows will undergo an adventure of intellectual, spiritual, apostolic, and human formation—exploring the truth, goodness, and beauty of Catholic social doctrine and virtuous leadership principles.

  • Ethan is a data scientist at a Big Five bank, where he oversees groundbreaking machine learning projects in Operational Risk. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Master’s in Data Science in 2021. He has worked across public and private sector roles, each furthering his passion in bridging communication gaps, deploying analytical insights, and sharing his findings to diverse audiences. Having previously worked with survivors of Indian Residential Schools and volunteered for some electoral campaigns, he is working with policymakers to advocate for greater control and security over Canadians’ personal data. He is a polyglot - speaking four languages, and learning his fifth, and easily relates to different cultures and environments. He humbly looks forward to returning to his place of baptism for fellowship at a deeper level.

  • David Figueroa is a Quality Engineer at an international food manufacturer, specializing in plant-based product categories. With a career dedicated to supporting global start-ups and driving innovation, he has contributed to projects across multiple continents, gaining valuable cross-cultural experiences that fuel his goal of visiting all five major continents.

    Beyond his professional work, David has devoted over 15 years to volunteering in the Catholic Church, particularly in youth ministry across various parishes. Most recently, he has been actively involved in the 40 Days for Life campaign in Toronto, combining his faith and leadership skills to make a meaningful impact.

    Proudly Colombian, David embraces both vibrant social life—through music, travel, and community—and quiet moments at home, enjoying reading and games.

  • Caroline is a graduate of McMaster University, Ontario Tech University, and also the University of Toronto, where she earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. She works as an epidemiologist at Sinai Health System (Mount Sinai Hospital) in Toronto, contributing to research and surveillance on infectious diseases in the Greater Toronto Area. Caroline’s research experience also includes work with individuals with disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and mental health conditions. She serves on the Board of Directors for Participation House Durham, a non-profit that provides housing, employment, and life-skills supports for adults with disabilities, and volunteers with Community Care Durham as a WeConnect Facilitator for mental health support groups. Caroline also volunteer extensively within her church community, as a lector and as a member of the social and fundraising committees.

  • Sarah Marchack holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Toronto and an ARCT Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music. With over two decades of musical training, she developed strong communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills. A former teacher at Hawthorn School for Girls, she now works as an Executive Assistant and Office Manager at a mining construction company. She is also an event manager for a young women’s committee. A convert to the Catholic Church in 2020, Sarah is passionate about the Faith. She recently cycled part of the Camino de Santiago and enjoys reading and time with loved ones.

  • Nicolas is a Transformation Consultant with the Treasury Board Secretariat of Ontario, where he has been working since 2024. During his time at TCS he has worked on client engagements with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services helping them manage strategic and organizational change. Prior to joining the Ontario Public Service, Nicolas has also provided consulting services for startups and a multinational company. Nicolas holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto's Rotman Commerce program.

  • Noah Mawji is a Political Advisor to Ontario’s Minister of Energy and Mines, where he supports issues management, legislative affairs, and policy development. A recent graduate of Queen’s University in Economics and Politics, he has contributed to two successful 2025 election campaigns—provincial and federal—leading volunteer recruitment, coordinating outreach efforts, and developing communications and digital strategies. During his time at Queen’s, Noah led the Frassati Men’s Group at Newman House Chaplaincy, hosting formation and community-building events and spearheading fundraisers for Catholic charities. Committed to mobilization, he has served as Co-Chair of the CJPAC Fellowship and played a key role in expanding the Thomistic Institute’s presence on campus. Passionate about public service and faith-based leadership, Noah looks forward to learning from and collaborating with fellow Catholic professionals through the Lumen Gentium Fellowship.

  • Maria McCann is a passionate advocate for human dignity. She works as a pro-life public speaker in the nonprofit sector and volunteers with London Against Abortion, an activism team she co-founded and formerly led. Since 2015, she has done hundreds of hours of pro-life outreach across North America, speaking with thousands of people about the injustice of abortion. She holds a BA Honours Specialization in English Literature with a Minor in French Studies from Western University ('18) and is a recent alumna of the Cardus NextGEN Fellowship ('25). In addition to her advocacy work, she blogs regularly on disability rights, literature, and theology.

  • Angela is the Research and Resource Development Assistant in the Office of Social Care and Community Outreach at the Archdiocese of Toronto. She previously held administrative roles at the Chapel of St. Joseph in Holy Cross Funeral Home and at REAL Women of Canada. Her education includes a master’s degree in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in English - Professional Writing and Rhetoric, with minors in Speech Communication and Catholic Studies, both from the University of Waterloo. During her undergrad, she had a number of co-op placements in writing-related fields and is excited to be back writing and researching on a daily basis. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing a variety of textile arts and reading.

  • Eden holds an MLitt in Theological Aesthetics from the University of St Andrews and a B.A. in Philosophy from Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College. Her work explores the intersection of art and truth, with research in 19th- & 20th-century Aestheticism, Religion & Literature, and Tolkien’s poetics. Eden has contributed to academic projects including co-editing a volume for the Edinburgh Journal of Inkling Studies and serves as associate editor for Transpositions. Passionate about the dialogue between faith and the arts, she has spoken at numerous events and currently works in Business Development across North America and Europe.

  • Christina is an inspiring cybersecurity professional and entrepreneur with a passion for serving and protecting others. Her unique career journey began in the beauty industry, where she spent years developing a deep understanding of client needs and building trust. This foundation led her to transition into the technology field, where she now works to protect critical data and systems.

    Her diverse experience is highlighted by her current work at the Toronto Zoo, where she is dedicated to protecting nature and animals. This role showcases her commitment to a safer world in all its forms. As an entrepreneur, she continues to channel her unique blend of skills to innovate and lead, inspiring others to be confident in their skin and hair.

  • Selina Quibrantar is a researcher and project coordinator at the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine, in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and The Joannah & Brian Lawson Centre for Child Nutrition. With expertise in qualitative research methods and a strong commitment to community engagement, Selina aims to ensure that the voices of individuals are represented in research concerning nutrition and public health. She has conducted various community-based research projects and has been recognized for her work on food insecurity by Work-Integrated Learning Canada. With a passion for creating positive change and promoting healthier communities, Selina aims to make a lasting impact on the well-being of individuals and communities across Canada.

  • Geenisha Rengha is an Operation Analyst at Citibank Canada with over six years of experience in Banking and over seven years in Telecommunications. She specializes in creating dashboards that help management make better decisions faster. Her work style is being curious: she likes questioning things until it makes sense. Her goal? Making sure things are done right the first time.

  • Claudia currently works at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she supports students on matters related to Enrolment Services. With over ten years of experience in the higher education sector — both as a working professional and student — she continues to enjoy environments that foster continued learning and a supportive ethos in the day-to-day.  She has a heart for all things related to mental health and accessibility, and strives to promote and advocate for more inclusive practices in her work. Drawing on her experience in child welfare, social science research, and work with vulnerable populations, she strives to see God in those she serves and prioritizes individuals’ needs and identities in the way she supports them. Claudia looks forward to the Lumen Gentium Forum and to exploring how professional skills and mission can be deepened and made more meaningful by continually placing God and the faith at the centre.

  • Mary Webb is a policy analyst for Health Canada, working in Parliamentary Affairs. As a non-biased federal public servant, she coordinates legislative initiatives and serves as an expert advisor on guiding legislation through Parliament. She has done everything on the team from writing speeches for Members of Parliament, to coordinating responses to petitions from the public, to reporting on the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying (AMAD). She discovered Parl Affairs during the pandemic, and ended up loving it. Despite the long and unpredictable hours, Mary often finds time to volunteer for various initiatives. She has many interests, including playing the piano, reading, writing, sailing, painting, drawing, learning French, and travelling. Mary holds an M.A. in English Literature from the University of Ottawa, and has also studied history, political science, French and music. 

  • Daniel Di Fonzo is a lawyer with the Ministry of the Attorney General. Daniel provides legal services and advice to various program areas at the Ministry of Health with a focus on corporate commercial matters and the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. He assists clients with drafting agreements, OHIP eligibility and payment accountability, litigation and regulatory matters. Daniel completed law school at the University of Windsor after completing a M.A in international politics at the University of Manchester and an Hon. B.A. in history and religious studies at the University of Toronto.

  • Originally from Montréal, Quebec, Olivier moved to Toronto in 2014 to join Canada's flag carrier operations out of Lester B. Pearson as a junior First Officer. He started flying in the Air Cadet program at the age of 16 and trained professionally at the Chicoutimi Cégep where he graduated in 2006. Olivier has since worked a variety of jobs as dispatcher and an instructor in a flight school, fire patrol pilot, scheduled and charter pilot in the North-West Territories servicing native communities and different outfitters and exploration companies. Olivier returned to home after 4 years and operated charter and medical evacuation flights before his arrival in Toronto. He has been promoted to Captain on the Airbus 220 since June of 2023. In his off-hours, Olivier enjoys the outdoors, sailing, hiking, biking, camping, skiing in the winter and staying active. He occasionally plays guitar and likes to read and host friends.
