Our first cohort will begin monthly meetings in September 2024, through to April 2025. The application process is now closed. In early 2025, we will be accepting applications to the 2025 Lumen Gentium Forum, which will run from September 2025 to May 2026.

Participants must submit a one-time program fee of $500 to confirm their acceptance into the program, after they receive an acceptance offer. The fee will be paid to our collaborator, the Archdiocese of Toronto.
For those who cannot afford the full fee, bursaries are available. Please email the program coordinators if you require a bursary to participate: Brendan@LumenForum.ca and Robin@LumenForum.ca.

Yes! The Lumen Gentium Forum forms professionals in the social teaching of the Catholic Church, and includes opportunities for prayer, fellowship, and worship. We are open to accepting Fellows interested in this kind of formation, or who are exploring the Catholic faith.

No. Applications will no longer be accepted after July 15.

Lumen Gentium Fellows meet monthly between September and April. These meetings will take place on a consistent day, time, and location each month. The timing of meetings for the first cohort (September 2024 to April 2025) is being shared with candidates during the interview process. The program will conclude with an all-day retreat in May 2025.

Meetings include prayer and worship (like Eucharistic Adoration, or Mass), dinner, conversation about the month’s readings, and a presentation by a speaker. The program culminates in a commissioning retreat.

Meetings will take place at the Newman Centre, on the University of Toronto’s downtown campus. The Newman Centre is a short walk south of St. George subway station.

Yes. Participants must complete a package of readings each month, prior to the monthly gathering. There are about 60-70 pages of reading associated with each monthly gathering, roughly three hours of reading per month.

Currently, the Lumen Gentium Forum is an in-person program based in Toronto. We will accept anyone who is able to travel to and from downtown Toronto each month in order to attend meetings.
We hope in future to bring Lumen to other Canadian cities. If you are interested in helping us make this happen, please reach out!
